Crafted from precious Black resin, the cap resembles a boxing sack while the barrel appears like boxing tape athletes use to wrap their hands. The cap features various design elements, such as a famous exclamation by Ali and a butterfly inspired by this typical fighting style: "Float like a Butterfly, sting like a bee".
The pointed cone takes up that notion and is engraved with four lines representing the ropes of a boxing ring. The inscriptions on the cone refer to Ali´s victory at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome and his first heavyweight world championship he won in Miami in 1964. The details of his victory, namely having won in the seventh round by technical knock-out, can be found on the cap ring. To celebrate his first title, the Montblanc emblem in White resin is adorned with a "1". To underline this success, the clip is shaped like a boxing championship belt and bears his name.
